during the week ending April 13, despite weak demand and firm crude oil. The June ICE Brent crude
oil futures increased $4-5/b to $105-110/b by 4:30 PM Singapore time (0830 GMT
on April 13). Sources said that prolonged
factory shutdowns after lockdowns in China have raised concerns about
escalating port congestion, and backlogs in the PE supply chain. Sources say that China's inland transportation is still a
problem. Sources have reported delays in
PE shipment. Sources also reported that
some carriers were not picking up their goods because they had higher margins
for carrying other goods. A source claimed
that shippers used capacity crunch to justify high shipping rates...
