density polyethylene prices remained stable over the week ending February 1,
due to thin trade. Sources
said that the price range for recycled high density polyethylene (HDPE) film
grade to virgin HDPE was $150-$200. This is despite a standstill due to a surge
in spot prices in the virgin HDPE industry and a pushback from recycled buyers
because of record high prices. The R-HDPE
market has seen a price pressure for many weeks. This is because post-consumer
waste feedstock supplies have not been able to keep up with the growing demand.
