- H2 July buying Interest tepid- Limited Offers

Participants were in wait-and-watch mode as
a result of bearish downstream sentiment. The Asian ethylene markets weren't
much discussed on June 27. Participants said that there were few
offers and that buyers were scarce due to weak demand for H2 July. According
to a source familiar with the matter, PTT Global Chemical, Thailand, has issued
a tender for 3,000-3500 mt of Ethylene for delivery between July 8-12. The
premium is around $100-120/mt above CFR Southeast Asia. The
benchmark C+F Japan naphtha marker, which was $824.50-850.50/mt in the upstream
markets on June 27, was up $6-7. The spread for ethylene-naphtha was
calculated at $155.50-180.25/mt. This is lower than the average spread of
$300-$350/mt.
