Asian MTBE rose $30-35/mt on the day to $1,345-1,370/mt FOB Singapore
Mar 9, with aggressive selling interest in April-loading cargoes preventing the
FOB Singapore MTBE marker reaching a new high. On March 7, the marker reached an all-time record high of
$1,345-1,370/mt. This was the highest level since 1993 when the assessment. The
interplay between the H2 March/H1April can be
flipped into a backwardation by firmer H2March-loading cargoes than April
loading. It was assessed at plus $3-4/mt. The
energy complex saw front-month ICE Brent crude futures rise 3.76% to $130-135/b
by 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT), gasoline 92 RON rose 6.28% to $145-155/b
on the day, reaching an all-time high. Spot
