not spot- US Caustic Soda Exports in Jan.-April were down 6%
compared to last year: ITC



US export caustic soda prices remained
unchanged at $795-$805/DMTFOB USG on the week of June 14 based on stable
pricing indicators and low spot activity. According to market sources, spot volume availability was
still limited as producers remained focused on their contractual obligations. The force majeure Olin declared on April 20 regarding
Chlor-alkali and ethylene dichloride was in effect until June 14. Westlake has also scheduled a month-long turnaround at its
Plaquemine complex in Louisiana. This complex includes a chloralkali unit
capable of producing up to 426.376 mt/year of chlorine and 453,592 mg/year of
caustic soda. According to market sources,
supply will remain tight until Olin's production returns...
