The fundamentals of the Asian MTBE markets
remained unchanged as of Sept. 13. However, sentiments seemed to have slightly
improved. The
FOB Singapore 92 RON gasoline was used to measure crack spread against
front-month ICE Brent crude oil futures. It rose to $7.48-8.50/b on Sept 13 and
is now closer to $8-9/b. The reform
spreads moved in the same direction, from $23.3-28.59/b up to $30.35-35.25/b on
Sept 13. The blending market in Asia
remained a mixed bag for MTBE. A FOB
Strait cargo offer at $960-980/mt during the Market on Close assessment process
put a stop to the Asian MTBE Market. This overwriting of the factor to a lower
1.107 level from 1.125 further implies that there are limited buying...
