Asian
isomer-grade mixedxylene rose $1/mt to $965/mt FOB Korea on Nov. 11, and was at
$975/mt CRU Unv1. It was also up $13/mt to $930/mt CRU China on Nov. 14, as
domestic Chinese prices increased due to a stronger Chinese Yuan. A
Chinese market source stated that prices are now firmer due to some relaxations
in COVID-19 rules in China. However, the market remains steeply backwardated
and there is a possibility that Shenghong Petrochemical will sell MX on the
spot market in the future. As of Nov. 14, prompt MX in East China was
priced at Yuan 8,140-8.150/mt or approximately $987/mt based on import parity.
