Asian MTBE saw a $20.80/mt increase
week-on-week at $927.59/mt February 10, with balanced supply and demand in Southeast
Asia between February and March. A
source stated that the arbitrage window for China origin was closed because of
disagreeable prices. This resulted in very few trades this week. According to the same source, FOB China was traded at
$890/mt and 5,000 mt for March Loading, which took place on February 9. According to a trader, however, market participants expect
increased demand over the next weeks as China's domestic consumption is
expected to improve and the Ramadan month to come. The trader said that Ramadan month could trigger higher
demand for additional products, as well as the shift to higher-octane...
