Floating discussions stay firm Buying appetite heard outside China  



Due to falling prices of
upstream crude oil, Asian paraxylene was down $16-20/mt on the day at $1,200-1,225/mt
CFR Taiwan/China or $1,180-1,200/mt FBO Korea April 20, amid price drops in
naphtha and upstream crude oil prices. For the
third consecutive trading day, the spread between naphtha and paraxylene
widened to reach a one-year high of $290-300/mt. It was last higher at $290-300/mt
April 28, 2021 according to Commodity Insight data. The floating basis bids and offers for June Asia-origin
cargoes stood at plus $16-20/mt, plus $20-25/mt to June Daily Average of CFR
Taiwan/China prices (DMOPT), respectively. Last time bids for Asia-origin July arrival cargoes was
heard at plus $16-20/mt from July DMOPT. A
