The supply-demand imbalance in Asia's benzene
market continued fuelling selling interest at the prompt Feb. 22, at 4:11:21 PM
Singapore time. A March physical bid of $935/mt at H2 March cargo flattened the
steep curve. On February 22, the FOB Korea marker remained at $935.67/mt, a
drop of $22.66/mt per day. As the
March-April derivative spread remained below plus $6/mt, near-term benzene
spreads were reduced in tandem. Sources said that buyers in South China or
north China had begun to look at materials. A few
parcels were purchased into the area at mid to high premiums to the FOB Korea
base price for March delivery. Complex can produce up to 500,000
