Due to limited spot activity, the European
monoethylene glycols market experienced weak demand over the week ending
February 10. Sources say European glycol truck
prices are stable but that weak market sentiment is a major factor in prices. The recent
arrival of imported vessels meant that buyers have plenty of choice. Some sources
claim it is a buyers market. A distributor stated that "[MEG]
demand has been almost zero." Trade was heard at Eur835/mt FCA
AARA. However, diethylene demand was stronger due to increased buyer interest. MEG traders
in Asia were charging $5/mt more for each 30 day credit extension due to the
