Show Split Direction- Imports to replace domestic
feedstock volume

Negotiations for November were stopped in the European
polystyrene marketplace on Nov. 2. Participants awaited news about the upstream
styrene monmer contract price. This delay was caused by a European public
holiday. Initial
settlements in styrene showed split direction. One producer indicated an upward
movement, while the other pointed it lower. Market traders referred to an announcement settlement that
indicated a marginal Eur4-Eur5/mt rise in the month's styrene contract. The month was expected to see a subdued demand due to
seasonality and ongoing disruptions from volatile energy and major changes in
the European cost of living. Although domestic
polystyrene supply will be limited by outages in the upstream, ample imports
will compensate for the anticipated demand.

Exclusive market movement data, shipping lineups, demand signals and pricing rationale continue in full report.
