The spot US export
polyvinylchloride prices were unchanged for the week of July 27 based on stable
pricing indicators as market participants wait for August offers. Prices were set at $1,020-$1,030/mt FAS Houston. The base
range for the assessment is $1,000-$1,010/mtFAS. An additional $20-25/mt was
added to cover higher costs such as drayage trucking or storage of packaged
material at warehouses. The assessment does NOT include
freight costs, insurance, or margins. Spot export
PVC prices fell 41% between May 25 and 25, according to deals made at lower
levels by sellers to attract buyers who were reluctant to purchase because so
much material is still in storage awaiting export. The
