US spot export homopolymer injection
polypropylene prices were assessed unchanged on the day and on the week of Aug. 17
amid sparse market activity. Prices were assessed at $1,323-$1,334/mt FAS
Houston, or 55 cents/lb railcar basis, based on last heard pricing
indications. Co-polymer PP prices also were assessed flat on the week of Aug. 17
at$1,389-$1,411/mt FAS Houston, or 58 cents/lb for rail cars, maintaining a
3-cent premium to homopolymer grade. The FAS assessment includes 5.5 cents/lb to
cover the costs of packaging and transport to ports. Upstream, spot polymer-grade
propylene prices were assessed at 45.5cents/lb on Aug. 17, flat on the day and
down 3.5 cents/lb on the week. Domestic contract homopolymer injection-grade PP
