Exports of EU toluene fell 57%, and imports decreased by 79% in October / Futures on ICE Brent up 2.38/b

Dec. 16 saw stable premiums for European
toluene, while fundamentals remained the same. In the
absence of any new indications, premiums were estimated at $111.25/mt. According to a source, the market tightness continued. According to Eurostat data, October saw a 57% drop in EU
toluene imports to 20,625 mt. Imports fell 41% to 1,238mt. Toluene imports fell 79% year-on-year in October, while
exports dropped by 61%. Turkey was the top
buyer of European toluene, followed by South Africa, India and then South
Africa. Serbia was the biggest seller of toluene to the EU. Crude futures gained in the European morning session Dec. 16
due to optimism about demand following a large drawdown in US crude stockpiles. The ICE Brent futures were valued at $75.26/b, an increase
of $2.38/b.
