higher in week ACETONE: The US spot price of acetone rose $110-120/mt
(5c/lb) to $1-2/mt (53.5c/lb), on April 26. On the week, domestic
acetone contract assessments for truck and railcar remained at 58.5c/lb (1-2/mt). Because of steady demand and supply shortages, prices for
acetone were discussed in the 53-54c/lb range. One source said that rates for phenol-acetone units were
falling due to difficulties exporting co-products phenol. The acetone supply was still tight. According to a second source, there have been at least three
months of below-average imports in Q1 20,22, which has contributed to the tightening of the acetone market. The US
