Both the domestic and spot caustic soda
levels were on the rise in the week ended Sept. 6, despite continued strong
demand and tight supply. Spot
export caustic soda prices in the US rose $30-35/dmt during the week ending
Sept. 6, to $845-$855/dmt F.O.B. USG. This was based on a deal for 5,000 dmt at
$850-870/dmt F.O. Spot domestic caustic
soda prices were $70 higher this week at $925-935/dst etc-plant. This was based
on a confirmed deal at $930/dst exp-plant. According to market sources, such price increases are
expected due to continued high demand and tight supply. Sources claimed that producers didn't have enough stock to
