European Xylenes : Market liquidity is poor amid low demand / Gasoline Blenders Show Caution Amid Demand Issues / Europe exports more PX

The European xylenes market was largely inactive during the week ending March 28 due to continued weak demand. Participants on the market indicated that trading activity was not changing much in the spot market for mixed xylenes, due to weak downstream demand in both the petrochemicals and gasoline blending industries. MX players are cautious due to the uncertainty surrounding tariffs and the increase in electric cars. Aromatics producer: "Gasoline blenders have already started blending, and they hold large inventories." The market is ready, but the end-user demand for gasoline has not yet picked up. However, this past week, gasoline-naphtha premiums continued to increase, hitting triple digits on March 26.
