the seven days leading up to January 11, prices in Europe's polystyrene markets
saw moderate price increases. This was due to higher upstream feedstock costs
as well as increased energy averages for December. Contract offers rose
Eur140-Eur150/mt in January, according to two producers. A converter
source stated that they expected a minimum Eur130/mt rise, but it was too early
for them to know where prices will go during the month. Producers said
that orders were delayed and they hadn't received any January orders since Jan.

styrene monomer contract prices and higher natural gas prices December than
