The European spot market continues seeing lower importsFrom
other regions Prices in Europe's polyethylene terephthalate market fell in the
week ending Dec. 21 due to lower demand and destocking towards the end of the
year. Some sources claim that PET imports from other countries are putting
pressure on European prices. According to one source, producers requested
that duties be placed on imports from other regions. Despite talk about
R-PET buyers replacing RPET by PET at a competitive price, there was no
increase in demand on the European spot market. This is because most consumers
are continuing to stock up heading towards year end.European
