On March 28, the spot European MTBE price dropped $2.50 per day, to $792.25/mt FOM ARA. This was due to a stronger gasoline complex upstream. Since reaching $759.25/mt in March, the European market has been trending upwards. It increased by $35.75 before the summer driving season. The spot interest has slowed down, and no activity was observed during the Market on Close process. The European MTBE FOB ARA Premium over the Eurobob front-month gasoline swap was $79/mt on March 28. This premium remained stable from day to day. The front-month gasoline/naphtha differential also increased by $2 per day, to $100/mt. This shows the continued pressure on the blending margins.
