prices rose in week 29 of July due to tight supply and production challenges.  FD Northwest Europe's
butadiene spot prices at Eur1,500/mt, up Eur50/mt over the previous week. Due to a shortage of offers, the market balance was tight. Participants stated that buyers were hungry for butadiene
due to high domestic demand and arbitrage opportunities in the US. However, it was
difficult to secure molecules. A seller
stated that there is still demand quantities to be shipped to the US.
However, it is difficult to find sufficient volumes. At least four vessels carrying butadiene were expected to
load at Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp and discharge in the US over July and
