polyethylene fell in week two of 2023. Despite LDPE recyclers resuming production, volumes were
still down by 20%-30%, according to a recycler. This was due to weakening
demand for endapplications such as black and grey LDPE that is used in pipes in
the construction industry. LDPE recyclers
from central Europe and northwestern Europe noted market weakness in the week
ending Jan. 11. A recycler from
northwestern Europe stated that the market was not looking good due to all the
economic turmoil. The price difference for virgin is Eur500/mt and it is
