European Methanol: Prices unchanged, fundamentals consistent during week / At least 9,000 mt heard traded during week / Equinor maintenance supports stability

Spot European methanol prices were unchanged Oct. 24 as prices dropped slightly during the week amid largely stable market conditions. At least 2,000 mt was heard traded during the day, with two 1,000 mt November deals heard completed at Eur269/mt. More than 9,000 mt was heard traded during the week, considering confidential deals also heard completed, compared with 3,000 mt heard traded during the previous week. The most competitive offers for October and November were heard at Eur272/mt, while an offer for December was heard at Eur275/mt. The outage at Equinor’s 900,000 mt/year plant in Norway was still ongoing, it was last heard from a source close to the company Oct. 21.
