The Asian EVA market was stable during the week ending March 26, despite a strong demand for solargrade ethylene vinyl. Medium-grade EVA CFR China was unchanged on March 26 both daily and weekly, due to consistent trading indications and stable market fundamentals. On March 26, high-grade EVA was also assessed at $1360/mt, with tradable indicators throughout the week, and stable market fundamentals. A regional producer reported that the strong demand for solar grade EVA supported prices throughout the week. A market source said that the photovoltaic industry continues to be strong, which drives demand for this grade. Another Northeast Asian producer, however, was reported to have limited its EVA offerings to small quantities, and switched production to LDPE laminate in response to better profit margins.
