Asian Ethylene Prices Fall on Low Demand, Plenty of- Middle East, Malaysian origin cargoes available US- Asia Arbitrage Window Closed on High Freight RatesThe combination of ample supply and weak
demand caused prices to fall in Asian ethylene markets during the week ending
Jan. 6. According to
market sources, cargoes from the Middle East were also available. Sources claimed that cargoes of Malaysian origin were
available. A tender was received for 5,000 mt ethylene loading Jan. 19-20. As many buyers remain concerned about the weak downstream
markets, buying indications fell week-on-week. Tepid demand for key derivatives like monoethylene glycol
and polyethylene glycol continues to dampen buying interest in ethylene. According to market sources, the US-Asia arbitrage window
