- After the fall in crude oil prices ,
trade discussions are limited- Weaker downstream margins may
pressure ethylene prices

The Asian ethylene market was stable in
November 21 due to a lack of trade activity following the drop in oil prices. Sources said that market participants preferred
to watch the market until the last week, and gain more clarity about the
direction of prices. Market participants stated that the margins for
downstream segments, such as monoethylene glycol and polyethylene, remain weak.
If demand continues to be low, a decrease in price pressure for ethylene could
occur. CFR China MEG spot prices fell $1/mt to $449/mt.
CFR Far East Asia HDPE film dropped $5/mt to $900/mt.
