Asian Ethylene: Increases due to stronger Chinese market- End users cautious about uncertain downstream direction- Chinese prices up Yuan100/mt week at Yuan 7,200/mtEthylene CFR Northeast Asia was $5/mt more
at $865/mt February 8, 2018, above buying indications of $850-860/mt from
buyers. This is in line with increases in domestic Chinese markets. Spot Asian ethylene was
not discussed due to limited availability. There were some buying signals that rose due to the limited
availability of March ethylene. This was due to low cracker operating rates and
low deep-sea arrivals. End-users were
cautious due to lower operating rates and uncertain downstream recovery. This
was because demand in the finished goods industry had not picked up after the
holiday in China. The prices in China's
domestic markets were at Yuan 7,200/mt exc-tank, an increase of Yuan 100/mt...
