Asian Ethylene: Limited discussions on unchanged fundamentals / Dec loading cargoes largely sold out / Chinese domestic offers stable

Firm discussions were limited in the Asian ethylene markets in the week ending Nov. 21 as most negotiations for December cargoes were already concluded. Several producers in South Korea said they were sold out of December-loading cargoes earlier in the month amid lowered operating rates and were unlikely to have additional material for sale. Selling indications were slightly higher week over week, at discounts of $35-$41/mt over CFR Northeast Asia, amid the lower availability for FOB Korea cargoes for December. In the Chinese domestic market, offers remained stable week over week at Yuan 6,200/mt ex-tank. However, deals done remained few, said some traders, as most purchases remained on an as-needed basis.
