DDP benzene was at 398c/gal on Feb. 16, a decline of 3 cents per day and its
lowest level since February 9. This is
equivalent to $1,199-1,238/mt. March DDP
benzene settled at 371c/gal, which is the equivalent to about $1,118-1,148/mt. Current downstream March FOB Styrene prices are lower than
its feedstock benzene, at $1,100-1,140/mt. Sources attribute this to low overall
demand and unworkable export arbitrage. Since
February 13, benzene prices have been steadily falling due to low downstream
styrene and very low ethylbenzene demand. Spot February DDP-benzene at 401c/gal DDP
USG Feb. 15, a decrease of 5 cents. With
