Spot nitration grade toluene
prices and mixed xylenes prices on the US Gulf Coast rose sharply on October
13. NGT
was at 421c/gal, an increase of 10 cents/gal and the highest price since July
29, when it was 441c/gal. NGT was offered
at 420 and 410 cents per gall in early trading. The offer was pulled by the end of the day and NGT was offered
at 420c/gal. Mixed xylenes increased 20
cents/gal to 446c/gal. This is the highest level since July 28th, when it was
at 446c/gal. MX was bought at 445 cents
per gallon, a rapid rise in demand throughout the day. Sources indicated that the overall energy complex was higher
