Declining prices for Asian styrene monomers
was a sign of the downward trend in crude, naphtha, and benzene. Despite higher feedstock benzene prices,
domestic ex-tank prices are still on a downward trend. Asian
benzene increased $2/mt to $804.67/mt. After
opening lower on Nov. 7, the domestic styrene market opened in a narrow range,
industry sources reported. The east China prompt styrene mark
fell Yuan 75/mt in the day to Yuan 8,095/mt. This equates to $971.51-$995.76/mt
if you consider import-parity. According to industry sources, Asian
markets were also affected by lower styrene prices globally. A trader
stated that demand outside China was still low. Europe's
