MEG truck premiums over barges narrow DEG prices ease on weaker demand



Sources say that the differential between European nonethylene glycol
truck prices and barge prices decreased on April 22. This was due to a stronger
interest in barges, driven by a steep rise in FCA logistics costs. Barge prices rose above Eur800-810/mt CIF ARA according to
traders, and some traded levels reached Eur820-835/mt CIF ARA due to stronger
demand. However, truck prices were stable
and above the Eur830-860/mt FCA level with little demand. This was despite a balanced supply. It led to a decrease in
truck premiums over barges. In the week
ending April 16, the truck premium over barges was Eur45-50/mt. MEG trucks are traded at a premium over barges in Europe.
