European GPPS market spot prices remained steady from May 11 to 12, with tight
supply pushing against waning demands caused by high prices. GPPS trading was still
heard at Eur2,500/mt-Eur2,520/mt with talk of lower trades that were not
supported and distributors offering higher prices. However, little interest was
shown in the market. The tight supply of
GPPS supported prices as producers claimed that there was less styrene-based
feedstock this month. Buyers claimed that
there was less demand because of high prices. They were concerned they wouldn't
be able to pass on the cost to end consumers. A converter stated that extra material was available and
