US Gulf Benzene prices begin to recover after March crash / Spot benzene prices rise on recent deals / Ethylbenzene spot trading also reported

On March 28, spot benzene in the US began to show signs of recovery after a crash in early February pushed prices down to a four-year low. On March 28, benzene delivering to April was valued at 253 cents/gal DDP, while material loading into April was valued at a premium 6 cents/gal of 259 cents/gal. FOB-DDP premiums for front-month benzene increased over the week ending March 28, reaching its highest level since march 2024, as the market continued its contango. Sources said that benzene was traded on March 28 at prices ranging from 251-258 cents/gal at Houston-Texas City, Lower Mississippi River and across the US Gulf Coast.
