Due to weakness in upstream energy, and
rising bearish sentiment, US July DDP-benzene dropped by 30 cents/gal to
605c/gal on June 29, falling by $30/gal. WTI crude oil futures dropped $1.98/b to close at $109.78/b.
This is a decrease of 1.77% from June 29. Benzene
dropped by 4.72% during the day. The
benzene to crude ratio was 2.31 on this day, down from 2.49 on June 27. This ratio is higher than the historical average of 2. Also,
the annual average is 2021. Sources
maintained that the benzene market was overvalued in comparison to crude
