Styrene Monomer Markets rose $4-5/mt for
the day of May 17, following the strength on the Chinese domestic market. According to a China-based producer, the demand
for downstream polymers containing styrenics is still low. Many customers are
still waiting and watching, expecting lower costs due to a weaker monomer. CFR China's
marker dropped $54.50-58.85/mt in a single week. It was assessed at $983.50/mt,
compared to $1,038/mt the week before, on May 10. A
