EDC: Asian ethylene dichloride was assessed
stable-to-$5-6/mt-firmer on the week Dec. 8, after a prolonged period of
bearish sentiment, lifted by firmer downstream markets. The global EDC market also increased, which
supported Asian EDC prices. On the week ending Dec. 6, the FOB
USG EDC prices rose $130/mt to $250/mt. According to
S&P Global data, upstream ethylene prices have also stabilised. The CFR
Northeast Asia EDC price rose $10/mt during the week to be evaluated at $890/mt
Dec. 8. VCM: Asian vinyl chloride monomer rose
$25-$45/mt over the week Dec. 8. The CFR Far East Asia reached a two-month high
in line with bullish downstream market for polyvinyl chloride. To reach an
