November 23 saw East-West naphtha spreads
continue to rise. December was up $1.50/mt at $27.75/mt as market participants
worried about heavy-naphtha supplies and freight rates. In the coming months,
there will be increasing concerns about Asian supply conditions, particularly
when it comes to heavy grade naphtha. Sources
say that Russia was once a major exporter for these grades to the Asian market.
However, the situation has changed since sanctions were imposed. Spreads are being further affected by the fact that Long
Range tanker freight rates have increased in the week beginning Nov. 21. The Clean-Arab Gulf Japan 55 kt Lr1 at W272.5, an increase
of w52.5 since Nov. 21. According to Kpler
shipping data, November's exports from Asia and Northwest Europe are expected
to reach 719,000...
