The spread between the CFR Japan naphtha
cargo exchange and the CIF equivalent of Naphtha East Wests -- fell for the
third consecutive day on Feb. 13, with both the front spreads in negative
territory. Sources say the drop was due to
stronger sentiment in Asia where there are growing expectations of rising
consumption from China. The front-month East-West was down
$1.75/mt at minus 3.75/mt. April dropped $2.75/mt and fell to minus 1.50/mt. Petroleum
Planning and Analysis Cell data revealed that India's January naphtha
consumption rose 11% month-on-month to a one year high. In a column
published by an energy ministry magazine, Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime
