As a result of stronger crude oil and
tighter spot supplies, the Asian propylene market edged higher on Sept. 13. The ICE November Brent
crude oils futures contract rose $2.35-3.50/b to $95.17-100.45/b, up from the
previous Asian close. "Demand
gradually improves. However, many Korean
producers have shut down since mid-September, so exports will drop,"
stated a South Korean producer, who believed that the market would benefit from
a lower spot supply. Other producers were
expecting a slight increase in October due to last-minute replenishment needs
in advance of the weeklong National Day holidays that will be observed in China
in October. East China propylene rose Yuan
75-100/mt to Yuan 7,175-8,000/mt expand, while Shandong propylene rose Yuan 35-50/mt
to Yuan 7,325-8000/mt. According...
