Asian benzene prices fell by $0.67-1.50/mt
to $889.67-910.50/mt FOB Korea marker Aug. 18. The benzene spot market
was slow to start in the morning session. However, discussion volume increased
in the afternoon with bids at $889-910/mt FOB Korea for September loading FOB
Korea and $888-910/mt October loading FOB Korea. The higher bids made it possible for the FOB Korea paper
market to flatten the benzene forward curvature. The spread between September and October narrowed by $2-3/mt
at $12-17/mt, while the spread between October and November narrowed by $2-3/mt
at $13-18/mt. Despite stable FOB Korea
prices, China's domestic market prices fell on August 18 due to increased
