US June DDP benzene rose 30 cents/gal to
652. 50 cents per
gall on June 9, as gasoline continues to be in demand for benzene derivatives. As prices rose, liquidity fluctuated between 640 and 650
cents per gallon. Two sources said that
trading was still very thin as the discussion remained open throughout the
session. June DDP offers and bids opened
at 625-6660 cents/gal. By market close, bids reached a maximum of 640 cents/gal. After rising to 670c/gal, they eased to 665c/gal at market
close. According to a source, prices were
rising due to RBOB and octane demand. As
high-octane blendstocks for the gasoline pool continued to be in demand,
