Prices of spot MTBE on the US Gulf Coast
fell 16. 70
cents as gasoline futures dropped for the third consecutive session. MTBE was valued at 541. 25c/gal FOB USAG. The
MTBE premium over gasoline has narrowed to 141. The Market on Close assessment process tracked offers at 87
cents per gallon. Multiple sources claimed
they had volumes but no bids, despite high demand. One source stated that liquidity had been
"terrible". NYMEX July RBOB closed
lower at 399 on the day. 38 cents/gal.
