The US methanol spot market activity was
very low on Nov. 7, due to a lack in bidding interest. There were no new bids
or trades heard that day. Sources said that the market remains
in a long position because demand is still low in an oversupplied market. Spot prices
fell 1 cent per day to 98c/lb FOB USAG in November and December. These
assessments were based upon and included higher offers. They also maintained
the flat market structure. In order to generate potential
buying interest, one market participant stated that offers could continue to
fall throughout this week. According to data from the US International
Trade Commission, US methanol exports increased 54% over the previous year
