On May 11, Asian monoethylene-glycol import
prices remained stable on current discussion levels. Traders in China expect a
gradual recovery as the end-product demand remains difficult to gauge. Some sources predicted
that any price spike in manufacturing would be less pronounced than previous
years due to the current oversupply. There
were many offers, especially from producers based on naphtha. The end users had sufficient inventories and could wait for
the moment. Sources said that domestic
prices were weak and China was more inclined to export, despite the
