- December surplus remains a plague- Southeast Asia barrels
discussed at minus mid-$40s-45s/mt

The Asian benzene markets opened the week
in a bearish mood, due to falling oil prices and weakening fundamentals. More FOB Korea cargoes loading FOB Korea cargoes
and the second half of December offered were made during the day. FOB Korea
benzene physical was $6/mt lower at $794.50/mt Nov 21. H2 December
loading packages from the Southeast Asia region were sold, but with tapering
cash differentials compared to the Mean of Korea base price. This reflects the
fact that off-takers could not afford more due to the high freight costs. The price
difference between FOB Southeast Asia marker and FOB Korea marker dropped to
minus mid-40s/mt, as opposed to the previous week when it was minus low-30s/mt. Participants
