Paraxylene gained $0.67-$1.85/mt after a sharp fall in Asian paraxylene price
for three consecutive days. It was $1064-$2010/mt on October 13, despite weakness
in other markets. The
market previously had a smaller paraxylene-naphtha spread but it was $11.67-$16.77/mt
wider on the day at $395.50-$410.80/mt due to the drop in feedstock naphtha. The Market on Close Oct. 13 assessment saw five bids being
registered and three trades completed for Asian-origin December cargoes, priced
at $1,059-1,060/mt. Floating basis trade
discussions were more active in the latter trade session. Selling interest was
also heard louder. The highest bid for
December cargoes of Asian origin was $42-$46/mt to December Daily Mean of CFR
Unv1/China marker (or DMOPT), while offers were lowered...
