The US spot import polyethylene Terephthalate
prices remained flat during the week of Dec. 21, based on stable pricing
indications and thin market activity before Christmas Day. Based on stable pricing indications between 60
and 60 cents per lb, the import PET price was $1,433 to $1.455/mt (65-66%
cents/lb). DDP US West Coast. Domestic PET prices remained flat at
$1,874-1,896/mt (85 to86 cents/lb), based on stable pricing indications within
the mid-80c/lb range. According to a market source, some suppliers
have sold their January and December volumes and are now offering February
volumes when market activity slows down. The source
stated that prices will rise slightly in February, just after Chinese New Year.
Prices will then be closer to peak season...
