Based on stable last-heard pricing
indications, US spot export polyvinylchloride prices were flattened starting
Dec. 21. The
assessment includes a base range of$745-$755/mt FAS, with an additional $20/mt
to account for higher drayage trucking and warehouse storage costs for packaged
material awaiting export. The assessment does not include costs of freight,
insurance or margins. Market sources said some shutdowns and upsets occurred
when US Gulf Coast temperatures in the region went below freezing for 36-40
hours between Dec.22-24, but overall impact was seen as minimal given inventory
levels and soft global and domestic demand. Sources said some plants were heard
to be slowly ramping back up after shutdowns, and offers for January export
